pinot noir

A wine expressive of its vintage. Alluring aromas of bright red fruit and hints of cake spice lead to a persuasive length on the palate with delicate silky tannins.

A silken-textured Pinot Noir, with a strong floral, violet and thyme component along with dark cherry, spice and smoky oak characters. Quite an elegant and restrained style, with a structure of fine tannins that suggest it will age reasonably well.

Produced using a small amount of whole bunches (5%) and a wild fermentation, the 2013 Pinot Noir offers a pale to medium ruby-purple color and beautiful perfume of ripe cherries, black raspberries and roses with underlying dark chocolate and cinnamon hints. Medium bodied with tons of red berry and baking spice flavors, it has a medium level of silky tannins and a long complex finish. The best, most promising Amisfield Pinot I’ve tasted, this wine is to be released in 2 years.

Pepper and cedar flavors add a spicy edge to the firm and focused cherry, licorice and plum flavors, with a dried rosemary note lingering on the finish. Drink now through 2026.
