Amisfield at the NZ Organic Wine Awards 2020
The whole team at Amisfield is honoured to have been named RIEDEL Organic Winery of the Year 2020 at the New Zealand Organic Wine Awards.
It's the result of the hard work the vineyard and winemaking teams have undertaken over the last 5 years and we're elated to see those efforts recognised in this way.
We've been in the process of organic conversion since 2015 and our entire 91 ha estate is now under organic practice.
It's the first time that this accolade has been awarded to a Central Otago vineyard so we're humbled to be in such good company. Amisfield wines racked up 7 gold medals in 2020 from 9 entries including 2 Champion varietals.
The judges said "The consistently high standard of wine being produced at Amisfield is astounding. Winemaker Greg Lane and assistant Ben Leen, as well as previous winemaker Stephanie Lambert should be lauded for their sucesful efforts in transitioning Amisfield towards organic certification and exceptional standard of winemaking."

At Amisfield, the manner in which we manage our vineyards and make wine is a matter of the deepest integrity. We want our wines to be an authentic expression of our place. As such, we believe an organic approach is the only way. Hopefully you can taste that in our wines. We hope you enjoy the results as much as we have enjoyed the process.
